The rhyming conventions of the new verse ended up codified inside of a rime dictionary known as the Zhongyuan Yinyun (1324). A radical departure from the rime table tradition that experienced progressed over the earlier hundreds of years, this dictionary is made up of a wealth of knowledge around the phonology of Old Mandarin.
